Shooting Of Natalie Portman Starring Show Halted After Threats
Natalie Portman has been currently filming for Apple TV+’s show ‘Lady in the Lake.’ But something not so good has happened that has led to a brief production halt.
According to the Baltimore Banner, several locals confronted a driver for the production on Friday and said they would only “allow” shooting to continue if they were paid $50,000.
The driver refused to pay and the group threatened to “come back later this evening [and] shoot someone” if production continued. This was confirmed by the Baltimore Police Department.
A spokesperson from the department said, “the leaders of the production decided to err on the side of caution and reschedule the shoot after they found another location.” The production will resume with tightened security measures.
The Production House Issues A Statement On The Matter
Endeavor Content, the production house behind the show, has issued a statement on this matter. This was given to The Hollywood Reporter.
The statement read, “Friday afternoon, on the Baltimore set of our production Lady in the Lake, prior to the arrival of the cast and crew … a driver on our production crew was confronted by two men, one of whom brandished a gun directed at our driver, and then they fled the location.”
It continued, “We are working with the Baltimore Police Department as the investigation is ongoing. The safety and security of our crew, cast and all who work across our productions is our highest priority, and we are thankful no one was injured. Production will resume with increased security measures going forward.”
‘Lady in the Lake‘ is based on the eponymous novel by Laura Lippman. It is set in 1960s Baltimore and follows a housewife and her mother to become investigative reporters.
