In a statement that came last month, HYBE, revealed that all seven members of BTS will complete the country’s necessary military service. The announcement came after months of speculations and rumors that the band might be given a special exemption from the norm. After releasing his solo album in October, the oldest member of the group, Jin, will be the first to enlist. After Jin, the other six band members also intend to enlist, though specific dates weren’t given.
Fans around the world are devastated and proud all the same about this ‘hiatus’ from music. Now the big question is about their reunion. When will BTS be back from their military service?

Why Is BTS Leaving For Military Service?
According to South Korean legislation, all physically fit men between the ages of 18 and 35 are required to serve in the army, navy, or air force for either 18, 20, or 21 months. Certain athletes and artists who represent the nation internationally are given specific privileges under the law. However, the pop band is not eligible because the exemptions for artists only apply to classical and traditional musicians. Additionally, the privilege is for ballet and other dancers who have won prestigious international championships.
BTS members received a unique two-year extension though owing to their success as one of the most successful bands in the world. Following this, there was some discussion that the South Korean government may amend the law to create a specific exemption for BTS members. But opinions among the public remained divided.
Defense Minister Lee Jong-Sup and Military Manpower Administration Commissioner Lee Ki Sik stated earlier this month that it’d be desirable for the band to complete their military service obligations to maintain impartiality.
