Carolina Giraldo Navarro aka Karol G is a Colombian Reggaeton artist, who started her singing journey on The X Factor in Colombia. She debuted with her first album ‘Unstoppable’ in 2017. However, she went global due to her second studio album ‘OCEAN’ released in 2019.
Karol G has already collaborated with the industry heavyweights like Maluma, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, and others. Recently, she was featured on Shakira’s new single released in February 2023 titled ‘TQG’ (Te Quedo Grande). The song was allegedly alluding to their exes namely Anuel AA and Gerard Piqué. Karol G And Anuel AA Collaborated For The First Time On ‘Culpables’
Before Anuel AA and Karol G collaborated on ‘Culpables’ from ‘OCEAN’, they met one another online. The Colombian singer wanted to collaborate on ‘Ahora Me Llama’ remix from her debut album. During that time, Anuel was serving his prison time for illegally possessing firearms. After he left the prison, the two started talking online in a flirtatious manner and even exchanged numbers.
The song debuted in September 2018 and it became an instantaneous hit. It debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Latin Streaming Songs Chart. Since then, the relationship between the two started blossoming and the rumors started swirling due to their sizzling chemistry in the music video of the song.
In September 2018, she said, “We became friends and we are very close. He is a human being completely different from the character he is. He has a huge heart, and I wish everyone could know him as I know him.” During the Latin Grammy Awards, she was asked whether she is dating Anuel. The ‘Bichota’ singer said, “We have a great friendship. Anuel is all yours, ladies.”

The Couple Parted Ways In 2021 Breaking Their Engagement
The couple confirmed the rumors when Karol G posted a birthday wish message for beau Anuel AA. In the caption, she wrote, “All I can say is I’ve had the honor to know your heart and fall in love.” They got each other’s names tattooed. Anuel shared pictures of themselves with the tattoos. In 2019, during the Billboard Latin Awards, Karol introduced her giant diamond ring confirming their engagement.
During the red-carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said, “I have never met a person like her.” Karol explained why Anuel is the archetype of the perfect partner “He is super romantic, that was one of the things that told me that he was the one. These days, you don’t find a lot of romantic men like him. He’s my favorite.”
However, the love did not last for long between them. In April 2021, Anuel announced that the two have officially parted ways. In an Instagram live, he explained the reason for their breakup. The rapper said, “The truth is that we’re not together. The times that people have seen us together is because we still love each other. We tried to recover what was lost but we took our different paths. May God bless her and that she continues to achieve her dreams and goals.” He also confirmed that there is no animosity between them.
Karol also took to her Instagram to announce their breakup and extend her gratitude towards him. She wrote, “For many years we tried to keep our relationship away from social media to take care of it.”
She continued, “The incredible things that happened to us as people and artists was a blessing and the result of a beautiful love that arrived in our lives when we most needed it. I love you, Emmanuel, my gratitude towards you, your family, and everything we lived, grew, and learned together is infinite.”
