All About Alexandra Grant
Though Keanu Reeves made his red carpet debut with his girlfriend Alexandra Grant in recent years, the couple has known each other since 2011 and has been best friends since 2019. Over the years their relationship went from platonic to romantic. Grant comes from a creative background and has established a career as a visual artist. While she is a masterful artist and painting is her medium of choice, she has also experimented with other creative ventures as well.
Alexandra Grant is also known for her collaborations with the famed feminist Helene Cixous and digital literature pioneer Michael Joyce. Many of her works have been displayed in galleries like the Orange County Museum of Art in Santa Ana and Texas’ prestigious Marfa Invitational. In addition to being an artist, Grant also followed her parent’s footsteps and worked as a college professor at a few different schools. Grant just keeps surprising us at every interview.

I do not believe that isolation is the way. There is a period of isolation that I do as a painter, but I deeply value the experience of being in relationships”, she jokingly dodged the question.

Alexandra Grant also dipped her pen into the field of publishing. Grant and Keanu Reeves joined hands professionally to publish ‘Ode to Happiness’ in 2011 and again in 2016, they collaborated their talents and published another titled ‘Shadows’. The art book features a series of 54 images, photographed by Grant which are based on the movements of Reeves. Alexandra was so amazed and stunned by Reeves’ movements that she made him her object for optical illusion.
In 2017, the couple co-founded X Artists’ Books, a publishing house that focuses on “thoughtful, high-quality, artist-centered books that fit within and between genres. In 2008 she started an initiative grantLOVE which produces and sells original artwork to benefit artist projects and arts non-profits. According to her website, the projects have raised funds for the Heart of Los Angeles, Project Angel Food, Art of Elysium, and 18th Street Arts Center.
