While Hollywood relationships are no short of drama, some are always more dramatic than others. Owen Wilson‘s relationship has one of those storylines. The actor has found himself in the center of a father-daughter drama that’s been unfolding for years now.
The actor’s daughter, Lyla Aranya Wilson, and her mother have been the center of controversy, especially because of the differences the actor faced while he was in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates. The actor has not met his daughter since she was born. Here’s what all the drama is about.

What Is The Controversy Around Lyla Aranya Wilson?
Owen Wilson’s daughter Lyla Aranya Wilson was born in 2018, to his ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates. The couple was not married at the time and eventually got separated. Despite Owen agreeing to fulfill financial obligations for his confirmed daughter, the actor has not met the four-year-old Lyla.
His fans have been quick to pass judgment on Wilson’s absentee parenting. Among the many fan theories, one particularly prevailing one is that Owen did not want other additional children, along with two sons with other partners.
Owen is on target for some fans, while others are blaming the mother of the child. Some social media users have even gone so far as to claim that Varunie’s pregnancy was intentional, aimed at ripping Owen off potentially without his knowledge. It is also alleged that the ex-girlfriend did that knowing Owen’s reluctance to embrace fatherhood again.
However, the story got an interesting twist with a recent court revelation. The paternity documentation in the court suggested that though Owen has accepted the financial responsibility for the child, there were uncertainties about the paternity test results. Some sources had claimed that “the alleged father is not excluded as the biological father of the fetus.”
Despite that, Owen is currently carrying the financial responsibilities of the child. The actor is paying $25,000 per month in child support along with several other expenses, including a labor coach and a night nurse, as well as legal fees. The actor has also signed Lyla up for health insurance under his Screen Actors Guild policy.

Why Hasn’t Owen Met His Daughter Yet?
Some leaked court documents reportedly suggested that the paternity test results might not be a definitive 100% match. Owen’s court paperwork has also indicated uncertainty about the child’s paternity, and that is where the decision to decline visitation rights has come from.
While Owen does speak about his two sons, Robert Ford, and Finn Lindqvist Wilson, he does not publicly remark on his daughter Lyla. His comments about Lyla are seemingly only restricted to the court.
While many have just hastily labeled Owen as the bad guy here, there are some wild fan theories suggesting that he might know something really twisted about Lyla’s parent conflict that the rest of the world is unaware of. A theory suggests that Lyla may not be Owen’s own daughter, but she could be the child of someone else he is related to. This remains a speculation and the conflict continues.
Owen, meanwhile, seems busy with his career. He has not been in a serious relationship for a while now, as the court battle continues. His daughter Lyla, now four, has yet to meet her biological father, while the mother Varunie’s social media continues to be a source where she gets comments and criticism alike.
