Ana De Armas Believes Marilyn Monroe Haunted ‘Blonde’ Sets
Ana has been receiving heaps of praise for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s ‘Blonde.’ The film is based on the eponymous 2000 novel by Joyce Carol Oates.
At the film’s premiere at Venice Film Festival, the 34-year-old actress said Marilyn’s ghost haunted the film’s set. According to Reuters, Ana told reporters: “I think she was happy.”
She continued, “She would also throw things off the wall sometimes and get mad if she didn’t like something. Maybe this sounds very mystical, but it is true. We all felt it.”
The actress further added, “I truly believe that she was very close to us. She was with us.” Andrew concurred with her and said, “It definitely took on elements of being like a seance.”

Ana Breaks Down In Tears As ‘Blonde’ Receives Standing Ovation
‘Blonde‘ premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received an astounding 14-minute long standing ovation. Ana, who plays the lead, was moved to tears seeing the beautiful moment.
Her co-star Adrien Brody also broke into tears at the event. Brad Pitt, who is one of the producers of the film along with Dede Gardner, looked visibly pleased by the response.
The film has been marred with controversies lately, especially due to its NC-17 rating because of its sexual content. Ana had earlier defended the content of the film.
Right after the trailer release, fans criticized Ana’s accent in the film noting that she maintained her Cuban accent and did not channel Monroe’s breathy style of talking. The Marilyn Monroe estate defended her casting despite not being involved in the film.
