Angelina Jolie And Billy Bob Thornton’s Relationship Explained
Angelina Jolie was married to British actor Johny Lee Miller between 1996 to 2000. In 1999, she met Billy Bob Thornton on the set of ‘Pushing Tin.’ But they did not start a relationship as Thornton was engaged while Jolie was dating Timothy Hutton.
In 2000, when they were single, their courtship began and the two got married in May in Las Vegas. After their marriage, Jolie and Thornton were planning to adopt a Cambodian child. However, their relationship came to an abrupt halt as Jolie filed for divorce in 2002.
When asked about it, Jolie said in an interview: “It took me by surprise, too, because overnight, we totally changed. I think one day we had just nothing in common. And it’s scary but … I think it can happen when you get involved and you don’t know yourself yet.”

The Couple Wore Blood Necklace
Both Jolie and Thornton received extensive media coverage because of their public display of love. Another interesting thing was that they wore necklaces that had each other’s blood in vials.
Thornton said that it was Jolie’s idea “if we took a little razor blade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets, and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter’s baby hair in one.”
After their relationship ended, Thornton married Connie Angland while Jolie tied the knot with Brad Pitt. She filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 which was finalized in 2019. She accused Pitt of physically hitting her and their children.
