The second season of the show will have eight episodes, compared to the 10-episode maiden season. In February, HBO Max content CEO Casey Bloys said that it will premiere in 2024.

Saying that 2024 is a “good guess”, Bloys admitted that it will not qualify to be nominated for next year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Since the Emmy deadline is May 31st every year, we can guess the show will hit sometime before that.

The show’s co-creator Ryan Condal has also said that the second season will have new dragons. “You’re going to meet five new dragons,” he said. Condal also said that they will begin filming “very shortly”.
