Britney Spears is currently in the headlines, and not just because of her long-awaited duet with Elton John. The 40-year-old ‘Toxic‘ singer has been a part of a lot of family drama lately and it’s been all over social media.
The pop sensation has deactivated her Instagram account again following a week-long drama with her family which was reignited after she did not invite them to her and Sam Asghari’s wedding. She removed her account just hours after sharing a sneak peek of her highly-anticipated new song with Elton John.

What Is The Family Drama Surrounding Britney Spears?
On 9 June 2022, in their Los Angeles home, Britney got married to her fiancé Sam at an intimate ceremony. The couple had a perfect day with their friends and close ones. But a few members of Britney’s family were missing from the wedding guests list. Reportedly, she didn’t invite her father Jamie Spears, her mother Lynne Spears, and her once-close sister Jamie-Lynn Spears due to their alleged part in her 13-year conservatorship which ended last year.
Initial reports said that Britney invited her brother Bryan Spears, who could not attend due to a prior commitment, although she denied these claims in a now-deleted Instagram post which read, “You were never invited to my wedding… GO F**K YOURSELF Bryan”.
Since her wedding, Spears has been involved in a family feud on social media, especially with her mum Lynn. Their drama became serious on Wednesday when Britney shared a video with a voiceover that said, “And don’t you ever forget how they gave you distance when you needed love.” In response, Lynn commented, “You have got to be kidding me!!”, and even added an eye-roll emoji, although her comment was deleted soon after.
All this drama is a lot for this pop star to take so she deleted her Instagram account, but she still remains active on Twitter.

About Britney’s Collaboration With Elton John
The ‘Oops! I did it again‘ star posted a snippet of her ‘Hold Me Closer‘ collaboration with Elton John on Wednesday, with quite a long caption (let’s be honest, she always does this). She thanked John for the great opportunity. The song is produced by Andrew Watt and is due to be released on Friday, August 26. It is also Spears’ first release after the end of her 13-year conservatorship.
On her Instagram post tagging John, she wrote, “Thanks @eltonjohn for posting my baby pic !!! Most people say that it’s CUTE … it surely is !!!” she wrote in her caption, referencing the song’s adorable cover art. “Maybe we should have Tea Time !!! Oh and let’s invite Queen Elizabeth too !!! I bet she’s a brilliant study of behavior !!! So shall we tidy up ??? Since most say they are honored TO KNOW ME SO WELL and only want happiness for me … you can bet your bottom dollar that THIS collaboration will heighten my year by joining your brilliant hands of play.” “Thank you for your generosity and just thinking of me to join you on such a brilliant song !!!
