However, playing Wednesday wasn’t always on her mind. She recently revealed that she “almost passed” on playing Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s ‘Addams Family’ prequel. Her initial refusal was cited as not wanting to be tied down to doing small screen roles. She thought signing for ‘Wednesday‘ would prevent her from being in movies.

Soon, she transitioned to more mainstream roles, eventually finding critical acclaim with ‘Wednesday.’ But it wasn’t what the young actress had in mind.
In a conversation with the English outlet, The Times, Jenna Ortega revealed how the role wasn’t meant to be. She didn’t find the project aligning with her interests, saying, “I had done so much TV in my life, all I’ve ever wanted to do is film. I was scared that by signing on to another television show, it could prevent me from doing other jobs I really wanted and cared about.“

Jenna Ortega In Talks To Star In The ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel
Tim Burton’s collaboration with his ‘Wednesday‘ star Jenna Ortega hasn’t run its course for now. Rumour has it that the ‘Wednesday‘ star is circling the much-anticipated sequel of Tim Burton directed ‘Beetlejuice.’ According to Deadline, Ortega will play the daughter of Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder.
Directed by Tim Burton, ‘Beetlejuice‘ stars Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, and Michael Keaton. There are no details on the story the sequel will follow. However, Michael Keaton is returning for the Tim Burton-directed sequel. The 64-year-old filmmaker wants the sequel in production in May/June 2023.
