Matthew Perry Apologizes For Writing About Keanu Reeves
In his memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’, Matthew Perry wrote a negative thing about Keanu Reeves. It wasn’t received well and people started criticizing the ‘Friends‘ actor.
Perry had previously apologized for his remarks on the ‘Speed‘ actor. On Saturday, Perry attended the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books where he said he will be removing any reference to Reeves from his book’s future editions.
“I said a stupid thing. It was a mean thing to do,” he said. “I pulled his name because I live on the same street. … I’ve apologized publicly to him. Any future versions of the book will not have his name in it.”
Later in the conversation, Perry said that he will personally apologize to Reeves. “If I run into the guy, I’ll apologize. It was just stupid,” he said.

What Did Perry Write About Reeves?
In his book, Matthew Perry wrote in detail about his struggle with addiction and alcoholism. He also remembered his close friends and co-stars River Phoenix and Chris Farley who died due to addiction. Later, he mentioned Keanu Reeves.
“It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”, he wrote.
At the book event, Perry stated he did his “best to not go after anybody in the book. That wasn’t the point.” He continued, “I wanted to make sure that this wasn’t the kind of book where I blame people for the things they did wrong.”
