Arnold Schwarzenegger had differences with James Cameron during the making of ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’. It is a sequel to Cameron’s ‘Terminator’ which was released in 1984Arnold once asked Cameron whether the length of the film could be shortened.

According to Essentially Sports, the director responded by asking him if he could cut his scenes. Schwarzenegger recalls, “James Cameron cut this scene out and the other one where we took out the brain from the Terminator Norris because I kept complaining to him that the movie was too long.”

The ‘True Lies’ actor then revealed how Cameron handled the situation by taking out his scenes from the film. He said, “So in order to punish me, he took out the two scenes that were my scene that each of them was like two and a half to three minutes long. So he said, ‘if you take those two scenes out, then we can save and cut the movie down by six minutes. How about that Arnold?”

The first two ‘Terminator’ films were lauded by critics and the audiences for their amazing visual effects and action sequences. The franchise derailed after Cameron moved on and different directors took over.

James Cameron is now gearing up for ‘Avatar: The Way Of Waterwhich is slated to release on December 16 this year. The film will follow three sequels that are planned for 2024, 2026, and 2028, respectively.

But it turns out that Cameron may not direct the later two planned films in the series. He said, “The Avatar films themselves are kind of all-consuming.”

He further explained, “I’ve got some other things I’m developing as well that are exciting. I think eventually over time – I don’t know if that’s after three or after four – I’ll want to pass the baton to a director that I trust to take over, so I can go do some other stuff that I’m also interested in. Or maybe not. I don’t know.”
