Why Kanye West Wanted To Change His Name
The ‘Monster’ singer filed the request to officially change his name in August. He then cited it as “personal reasons.” However, he wanted to do this for a long time now considering the fact that he used it as an album title in 2018. After the album was released, he even tweeted, “The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.“
As a Los Angeles judge finally granted his request which has also been confirmed at the superior court, Kanye Omari West is now officially “Ye”.

Why Did He Make This Decision?
Ye once told in an interview with radio DJ Big Boy. “I believe ‘ye’ is the most regularly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you, therefore it’s I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, our everything.”
