Patty Jenkins isn’t holding out on hope regarding the Oscars. In its long institutional history, the Oscars have continued to ignore the work of female filmmakers, including this year’s snubbing of ‘Till‘ and ‘The Woman King.’ Patty Jenkins told Variety that the numbers suggest otherwise despite everyone’s best efforts.
“I give up, I give up. I say that even with all of their push to have diversity. The numbers are just hugely imbalanced of who votes for these things. I sort of just stopped paying attention to it,” the filmmaker told the media outlet ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony.
