The couple was promoting ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ when the funny moment happened. A serious answer from Tom soon turned into a playful exchange, and Zendaya’s reaction left both of them laughing.

Tom Holland and Zendaya recently spoke with Spanish outlet Antena 3 Noticias while promoting ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘. During the interview, Tom explained what he hopes people will take away from the film.

He said: “The most important lesson he’ll [Spider-Man] ever learn is the importance of friendship and community and asking for help and relying on loved ones to pick you up when you’re at your lowest moment. ‘For young people, who have the fear of missing out, they should dive in and see their friends and get out of the house and make memories and have wonderful experiences, and I hope this movie can inspire young kids to do that.‘”

Tom was talking about friendship, spending time with loved ones and making memories. But one part of his answer immediately caught Zendaya’s attention. When he referred to fans as “young kids,” Zendaya started laughing and interrupted him. She said: “When you say young kids it’s like…”. Tom quickly realized what she meant and replied: “I know, like I’m some old...”

Zendaya did not let the moment pass. She laughed and said: “Grandpa over here! Turns 30 and now he’s like, these young kids… get out there, there’s no time left!”. When asked if fans would see more hats during the press tour, Zendaya laughed and said, “‘Hats? Oh my God. This won’t go away.'” Tom then asked: “‘What is it again? What’s it called? Zendaya hat theory.’“

Zendaya replied: “‘It’s peak brain rot. The kids are not OK.’” Tom admitted: “‘It is quite funny though,’” and Zendaya agreed, saying: “‘It’s so funny, it’s so weird. But yeah, maybe we need to whip out some hats. But obviously I’ve let you out of my hat, ’cause you’re here.’“. Tom continued the joke, saying: “‘I know. I like being out here. Don’t put me back in the hat,'” before Zendaya replied: “‘It’s nice out here, isn’t it?’“

The couple has also been making headlines after Tom recently confirmed that he and Zendaya are married. Speaking to Esquire about fake AI wedding photos that spread online, he revealed that even his grandmother thought she had missed their wedding. When asked if he had to reassure relatives, Tom replied: “‘No, because they were all there.’” He then added: “‘That’s all you’ll get on that.’“

While Tom was trying to share an important message about friendship and making memories, Zendaya’s quick joke ended up stealing the spotlight.
