After completing the journey of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, James Gunn went on to become the head of DCU. Together, James Gunn and Peter Safran envisioned a new and upgraded DCEU, dismantling and developing from the foundation.
James Gunn has several projects slated for the new DCU starting with ‘Superman: Legacy’. The film will star David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Recently James Gunn has dropped an interesting update about a new character joining the team of ‘Superman: Legacy’.

The Engineer Will Join The Team Of ‘Superman: Legacy’
Ever since the announcement of the project, Gunn has only been debunking rumors about actors joining the project or answering fans on Threads and dropping an occasional update about the project. A lot of the ensemble cast of ‘Superman: Legacy’ has already been publically revealed.
However, the latest announcement has got the fans excited, María Gabriela de Faría as The Authority member Angela Spica a.k.a The Engineer.
In a recent post on Instagram, Gunn shared a new behind-the-scenes picture with María Gabriela de Faría, as she worked on “stunts and costume fittings” for ‘Superman: Legacy’, hinting her Engineer costume might be practical effects. Gunn also teased that fans will “love” Engineer once she is onscreen in ‘Superman: Legacy’.

Who Is DC’s Engineer?
The Engineer was first introduced in DC Comics making her debut in 1999’s “The Authority #1 created by Warren Ellis and Tom Raney. After dying two issues later, the mantle was succeeded by Angela, who became a member of The Authority beginning in 1999’s The Authority #1.
Gabriela de Faría took her Instagram by storm after her casting was first announced, “I’m very happy and can’t shut up about it so here’s a compilation of moments after I found out [James Gunn] had invited me to play Angela, The Engineer.”
