Superman will be rebooted completely in a new project

‘Superman: Legacy’ will not be an original story and it will put focus on the superhero’s younger version as a reporter speaking to key characters like Lois Lane while he embarks on a journey to reconcile his origins as a Kryptonian with his human family.

James Gunn started writing the film after joining DC Studios in 2022. While the future of the franchise was revealed in January 2023, the film’s title is stated to be Superman: Legacy and it is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.
