New faces of rebooted DC have made it to the headlines. With James Gunn and Peter Sarfan heading the new Universe, DC is envisioned with upgraded yet classic storylines. Along with that, over a dozen of new actors are officially confirmed to play roles in the Rebooted DC.
The former DCEU will end with ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, and now Gunn is working out the cast of characters that will carry the brand forward, with ‘Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters’ in development. Continue reading to know all the actors locked down in Gunn’s DC Reboot.

David Corenswet
After a long search, DCEU has finally found its new Clark Kent in David Corenswet. He will debut as Superman in the 2025’s ‘Superman: Legacy‘, directed by Gunn himself. Corenswet previously appeared in the horror slasher film ‘Pearl‘ and Netflix comedy-drama ‘The Politician‘ with the upcoming 2024 disaster epic ‘Twister‘.
James Gunn explained to Variety during the casting process what kind of qualities he was looking for in an actor to take up the cape of Superman. It has to be somebody who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. He said, “It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and compassion that Superman has. And it has to be somebody that you’d want to give you a hug. You know, all the Supermen have been good, so we just have to add to that story.” Clearly, David Corenswet is the perfect choice to play The Man of The Steel.
Rachel Brosnahan
The award-winning actress Rachel Brosnahan will be portraying the role of Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest and a reporter at the Daily Planet. Brosnahan is best known for her role as Miriam Maisel in the award-winning ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’.
Previously, Lois Lane was played by Margot Kidder in 1978’s ‘Superman’ opposite Christopher Reever. In 2006 Kate Bosworth portrayed Lois in 2006’s ‘Superman Returns’ while Amy Adams nailed the role in 2016’s ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Dawn of Justice.’
Viola Davis
Debuting as Amanda Waller in 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad’ and 2021’s ‘The Suicide Squad‘, Viola Davis is one the very few stars who will be reprising her role once again in the rebooted DCU. She has also been confirmed to lead her own Max series ‘Waller’ and hopefully be seen in many movies and series across DCU.
Maria Bakalova
It’s not James Gunn alone, but also Maria Bakalova who jumped from Marvel to DCEU. Bakalova debuts as Cosmo the Space Dog in ‘The Gaurdians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ and ‘Gaurdians of the Galaxy Vol.3.’
The actress announced that she will be playing a new character named Princess Ilana Rostovic, hopefully in DC’s ‘Creature Commandos’. Princess Ilana Rostovic is an original creation and will debut under James Gunn’s DC reboot.

Indira Varma
Previously seen in the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi‘ series from ‘Star Wars‘, Indira Verma will debut in the DC Universe playing the role of The Bride of Frankenstein in ‘Creatures Commandos’.
Varma will be voicing the new character, as The Bride will search for a new outlook on her life other than being created just for Frankenstein.
Frank Grillo
Following the footsteps of James Gunn, Frank Grillo is moving on from his role as Crossbones in the MCU and will appear in the animated ‘Creature Commandos’ series on Max in 2024.
Grillo was the first actor confirmed to join Gunn’s DSEU, portraying Rick Flag Sr. – the father of Rick Flag Jr, played by Joel Kinnaman who appeared in both the ‘Suicide Squad’ movies. Additionally, Gunn is also clear about his plan to cast the same actor in the live-action of ‘Creature Commandos’.
Alan Tudyk
Along with Frank Grillo and Maria Bakalova, Alan Tudyk will also appear in ‘Creature Commandos’ as Doctor Phosphorus.
His character is a radioactive supervillain whose body chemistry was fundamentally changed after exposure to a reactor core, which leads to his body burning in flames constantly.
David Harbour
Juggling between both the universe, MCU, and DCEU, David Harbour’s character in ‘Creature Commandos’ was meant to be a play on Frankenstein himself.
But Harbour’s version is most likely to become one of the team’s scariest members. ‘The Stranger Things’ star embodies Red Guardian in 2021’s ‘Black Widow’ and again in 2024’s ‘Thunderbolts’.
Sean Gunn
With James Gunn being the new boss of the studio, Sean Gunn played Kraglin Obfonteri in MCU. The rebooted DCU will see Sean reprise his role as Weasel and voice G.I Robot in ‘Creature Commandos’, pulling double duty on the animated show.
Sean Gunn is also recognized for his role in ‘Gilmore Girls’ as Kirk Gleason. He is also acclaimed for playing several characters in the movies directed by his brothers including Calender Man and Weasal in ‘The Suicide Squad’.
