Josh Brolin Confirms ‘Green Lantern’ Talks, Reveals The Role “Didn’t Work Out For Him”

The possibility of Josh Brolin joining the DC Universe as Hal Jordan, the iconic Green Lantern, was an exciting possibility. However, in a recent interview, Brolin confirmed that those talks did not materialize.

Rumors suggest that Josh Brolin, known for his roles as Thanos and Cable in the MCU, was being considered for the lead role in DC Studios and HBO’s ‘Lanterns’. The plan was to pair him with a younger actor, John Stewart, to create a mentor-apprentice dynamic.

However, Brolin eventually declined the role, which was subsequently offered to Kyle Chandler. While discussing his new film ‘Brothers’ with ComicBook, Brolin addressed the Green Lantern talks for the first time. “You know what? Green Lantern didn’t work out, but that’s okay,” he stated. 

It’s working out. Who is it going to be, Kyle Chandler? I love him as an actor, I think he’s wonderful, actually. And, you know, we’ll see what’s down the line, man,” he added. His words hint at the possibility of future involvement in the DC Universe, leaving fans to speculate about potential roles.

‘Lanterns’ Will Be A New Era For DC Comics
