There’s a lot of attention on the DC Universe under James Gunn. However, there’s another shared universe that’s been quietly growing behind the scenes, and it’s being helmed by a familiar face from ‘The Boys.’
Jack Quaid, who is known for his role as Hughie Campbell in ‘The Boys’, has been voicing Superman for the past three seasons in ‘My Adventures with Superman’.
Jack Quaid’s Superman Is Building DC’s Next Shared Universe

This animated adaptation of the Man of Steel is now morphing into something greater, with new characters being introduced into the universe and more spin-offs already in the works. The largest indication of that growth came when Jessica Cruz was introduced in the third season of ‘My Adventures with Superman’.

Her brief cameo was enough to let DC know that the Green Lantern would be the star of her own animated series, My Adventures with Green Lantern. So, the DCU is developing an interconnected animated universe under the “My Adventures with” banner.
The new series isn’t about telling individual stories, but seems to be following the trend of the shared universe. Characters can transition between projects, and the animated world continues to expand, while new corners of the DC Universe are introduced.
Quaid’s optimistic and heartfelt Superman is at the heart of it all and has become one of the most defining parts of the franchise. His performance has been praised for its portrayal of warmth, humor, and hope that have always been central to the iconic hero.

The animated universe could grow even more with many more spin-offs. The “My Adventures with” format allows for a wide range of characters from the DC universe to be featured. This includes some of the more popular and iconic members of the Justice League.

Quaid’s success has also raised the question of whether more characters from ‘The Boys’ could join the franchise. Throughout the years, fans have envisioned their favorite actors, like Antony Starr, Jensen Ackles, Chace Crawford, and Claudia Doumit, playing significant roles in DC.
In addition, Ackles has been a fan favourite for Batman’s role in the DCU. For now, DC’s animated dreams are not intertwined with DCU’s live-action dreams. However, that didn’t stop the franchise from gaining momentum. With new heroes joining the fray and stories weaving together, the universe is quietly becoming one of the most promising long-term projects in DC.
