The animated skies above Metropolis are becoming increasingly crowded. The upcoming ‘My Adventures with Superman‘ Season 3 is set to completely flip the world of DC on its head. The series finally brings one of its crucial characters into the main storyline, making it one of the most pivotal seasons so far. With Jack Quaid voicing ‘Superman‘/Clark Kent, this season anchors a massive, game-changing expansion of the classic family mythologies.

Arriving right as the broader cinematic landscape pivots toward Kryptonian legacy projects like the upcoming solo ‘Supergirl‘ features, this animated series is ready to beautifully harmonize these massive cosmic arcs entirely on its own terms.

Just days after defeating Brainiac, the series continues with the help of Jack Quaid reprising his brilliant role as Clark Kent. Alongside Clark, Kiana Madeira returns as Kara, who is still struggling with the trauma of living under Brainiac’s rule, trying to acclimate to her new environment.

The narrative picks up right where it left off, with Amanda Waller still on the run and Lex Luthor (voiced by Max Mittelman) now collaborating with Slade Wilson (Chris Parnell) within the grounds of Lexcorp.

For those familiar with the series, there are not many surprises. ‘My Adventures with Superman‘ continues to offer its audience the same great mix of fluid, action-packed anime-style action, high-octane threats from outer space, and beautifully crafted character relationships.

While some might think the last five episodes are not on par with the first part of the season, the overall quality of the ten-part mini-series is definitely worthy of praise and attention.

The animated show has been doing a great job of retelling iconic DC lore. Merging mainstream comic book heroes with obscure characters. This time around, season three introduces the audience to an entirely unique take on another legendary comic book arc called ‘The Reign of the Supermen.’

After establishing his skills as a human-machine fusion in season 2. Hank Henshaw finally evolves into the Cyborg Superman, drastically changing the balance of power within the city.

However, the audience does not need to expect an adaptation panel by panel, as the show introduces its own plot twists, including numerous versions of Superman.

The most interesting arrival, of course, is Superboy, whom industry standout Darren Criss brings to life. Returning to the Superman universe after his great work as the hero in Tomorrowverse films, Darren Criss adds a unique flavor to the series.

The Superboy Dynamic

Superboy turns out to be one of the most dynamic additions to season 3. Instead of coming across as just another Superman clone, he brings his unique personality to the screen, introducing humor and charisma to the already well-known cast.

According to early reviews, the actor delivers a great performance towards the end of the season. Showing us how vulnerable the young hero can be, how he challenges Clark to become his mentor, and how he adds to the dynamic of the “Super-family.”

His presence forces the main couple. Played by Alice Lee and Jack Quaid, to rethink their plans and begin preparing for their shared life in Metropolis.

In terms of plot, a major game-changer splits season three into two distinct parts, separating episodes 5 and 6. The first five episodes effectively set up the main conflict.

Introducing a new hero to the plot while Clark remains the season’s focal point. Unfortunately, starting with episode six, Superman takes a back seat and becomes secondary to the series’ other subplots.

My Adventures with Superman‘ season 3 hits the airwaves on June 13 at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim’s Toonami. It will then stream on Max on June 14.
