‘The Flash’ went through a turbulent journey before it was able to get released in theaters for the audience. It is the first big project after the recently tanked ‘Shazam! The Fury of Gods.’ After many miniseries and appearances in other DCEU films, Barry Allen will be getting his own standalone film. The pressure is high because $330 million is riding on the film.

When Warner Bros. and Discovery merged, David Zaslav wanted secondary characters to be brought to the forefront. He also wanted other mainstream superheroes, like Superman, to have more films. But the new regime has taken many tough decisions to chalk up the five-year plan for the DCEU.

Now, ‘The Flash’ will serve as a bridge for the new regime. It will star Ezra Miller, who has gone through a tumultuous and problematic legal journey. As far as new characters are concerned, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl will be featured in the film. Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be back as Batman in the film. As per Variety, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick had written a script for the sequel to the film before the controversies and the new regime.
