While Skarsgard confirmed that he had Muschietti, he stopped short of confirming any specific role. “I’ve talked to Andy, but I’m not sure where he’s at with it,” Skarsgard said. Muschietti is set to helm the upcoming Batman project under James Gunn‘s newly minted DC Universe. Moreover, Bill’s history with Muschietti makes him a natural candidate for a part.

This revelation has fueled speculation about whether Skarsgard could join the DC Universe, sparking excitement among fans who have long debated his potential to embody Gotham’s most famous faces. Additionally, Skarsgard’s reputation for playing dark, complex characters precedes him, and his work in films like ‘IT’ and ‘Nosferatu’ has solidified his place as a master of the macabre.

They believe his unnerving charisma and ability to dive into the psyche of deranged characters makes him a perfect fit. However, the actor surprised many by suggesting he’d also be open to playing Batman. “Why not both?” Skarsgard jo joked. Unlike with The Joker, the notion of him as Batman is certainly unconventional.

People are used to seeing him in villainous roles. However, with his versatility any role is possible. While The Joker seems like a natural fit, Batman would represent a more challenging, unexpected choice. “I like exploring extremes, and playing someone like Batman would push me in a different direction,” he hinted during the podcast.
