The San Diego Comic-Con has been going on for a long time since the 70s. It is held every year in San Diego, California and as time has progressed, it has gained recognition over the years as Comic-Con International: San Diego, Comic-Con, and SDCC.
The major attraction of the event is that it has witnessed the presence of the biggest production studios in Hollywood and when new projects have been announced, it has led to a different kind of excitement among the audience. However, the event will undergo a few changes this time.
San Diego Comic-Con Won’t Witness The Presence Of The Biggest Production Studios
The San Diego Comic-Con will be going through some major changes this time as the biggest production studios won’t be joining this time. The list includes names like Marvel, Netflix, Sony, HBO, Sony, and Universal.
The reason is the WGA strike that has been ongoing since May 2, 2023. In case the SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP don’t come to an agreement by June 30, then the event will witness the presence of actors but the writers and showrunners will be missing.
The reasons are different with Disney, Marvel Studios and LucasFilm not planning for any panels. The same is applicable to Sony and Universal Pictures. Coming to Netflix, they have already organized a huge Tudum fan event in Brazil.

DC Studios Might Grab The Opportunity
The San Diego Comic-Con is confirmed to witness the absence of some important production studios. Considering that, DC Studios might plan to step in and take the opportunity for a PR boost for their upcoming two projects, ‘Blue Beetle’ and ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’
DC Studios is desperately searching for a hit film as their last few projects have failed to deliver good results at the box office and critical reviews as per expectations. ‘Blue Beetle’ and ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is expected to bring back the lost glory to DC Studios.
