2022 was the year when Kanye West lost his mind. The ‘Donda‘ rapper was known for his influence in the hip-hop genre. However, now he is only associated with hate and antisemitism. It has led to people calling him out and brands cutting ties with him forever.
Now, the rapper turned fashion designer is again creating headlines. Reports suggest that he fired a Yeezy worker after they suggested playing some Drake music. Let’s find out in detail about this case as it’s another feather on Ye’s ever-growing list of controversies.

Kanye West Fired His Yeezy Employee For Liking Drake’s Music
Officially known as Ye, West has been in the news lately for his anti-semitic tweets and losing his billionaire status because of it. However, a recent Rolling Stone report has elaborated on the toxic work environment of Ye-owned Yeezy.
“Nothing has ever compared to the amount of chaos, the amount of stress and [the amount of] anxiety you go through working for Yeezy,” an Adidas x Yeezy senior team member said.
One ex-employee described a 2015 incident at the Yeezy studio, just weeks before the rapper would unveil the brand’s inaugural collection. He asked for some music suggestions from an employee.
“I thought, ‘Oh, he’s a rapper, I should probably mention some rap,’” the ex-staffer said who proposed Drake‘s music. “Big mistake—the next day I was fired,” he said.

The Toxic Yeezy Work Environment
West’s toxic public outbursts were just one shade of his personality. His company staff experienced all that and worst on a day-to-day basis.
A Yeezy executive also recalled a time when an employee was called out for wearing a yellow sweater to work. Ye told him to “dress for the palette or you dress in black,” and was subsequently fired.
The constant firing over small things was mainly due to West’s mistrust, according to another employee. “Everyone’s always on the verge of losing their job, so the dynamics are total chaos,” they said. “He doesn’t necessarily have people that he can trust around him.”
Another contractor echoed this sentiment. “The biggest issue is that he doesn’t appear to have high-level operational people that he trusts,” they said.
