Rue’s Future In ‘Euphoria’
Zendaya played the role of Rue quite brilliantly on the show. She is a victim of substance use disorder and had a traumatic childhood. In the show, she goes to a rehab center that doesn’t turn out well. The show premiered two seasons but what about the third season?
The release of the third season is delayed due to continuing production and even fans’ high expectations from the upcoming season. In addition, one of the key goals of the upcoming season will be character development.
Thus, Sam Levinson suggested that Rue should work as a private detector on the show. This kind fits her temperament, but since she is a drug addict and needs to be mentally present for that, it is ironic that the directors suggested this.
Even Zendaya proposed a plan in which Rue would go sober and serve as a pregnancy surrogate, but the plan fell through as well. It makes some sense that Rue would truly want to get clean, venture outside her comfort zone, and escape the trauma bubble she has been living in. Her persona will acquire a positive outlook on life.
