“It’s As Scary As Talking About Marvel”: Sydney Sweeney Is Guarding Secrets About ‘Euphoria’ Season 3

Sydney Sweeney may have brought a lot to the table over the past few years as she has taken on various projects. But the actress first rose to fame with her role in the hit series ‘Euphoria‘. As the show’s fans now await the release of its third season, the actress has revealed that she has some heavy burden of secrets to carry.

During a recent event, Sweeney was asked about the upcoming season of ‘Euphoria‘ and her answers have made fans even more curious about it. Not revealing much, the actress jokingly compared it with the Marvel franchise that typically guards its secrets well until the release of the film.

Sydney Sweeney was recently speaking at The 92nd Street Y in New York City when she was asked by MTV’s Josh Horowitz about the upcoming third season of ‘Euphoria’. The actress did not reveal much about it but compared the secrecy around it to Marvel’s super-secret film franchise.

Honestly, it’s, like, as scary as talking about Marvel,” Sweeney said. “I said one thing, and it went everywhere.”

Horowitz then mentioned that the show’s fans are “excited” for the upcoming season wherein Sweeney would reprise her character of Cassie Howard. “I’m excited too,” she responded.

I love Cassie. Cassie truly is a dream to play and as an actor, I’m so fortunate that I’ve had a character like her at such a young age,” she continued. “And, of course, I wanna keep living her crazy [life]. I love it.”

Euphoria was renewed for a third season in February 2022, but fans will have to wait until at least 2025 for new episodes.

During another conversation with Horowitz at SXSW in March, Sydney Sweeney talked about her busy schedule over the past few months. She revealed that she’s soon heading back to the ‘Euphoria’ set after working on various projects, including ‘Anyone But You’, ‘Madame Webb, ‘Saturday Night Live, and ‘Immaculate’.

I always feel like I go home,” she said about returning to the ‘Euphoria set. “It’s like home when I go back to it. I like it.”

When asked if she’s seen a script for the latest season, Sweeney played coy. “Maybe. I don’t know.”

As she further discussed her character in ‘Euphoria, Sweeney talked about having “agency” over her role.  She mentioned that there’s a bit of a collaborative nature on set, with the actors feeling like they have some control over their characters.

I think that we’ve all lived with our characters for so long, so we have a bit more of an agency behind [them],” she continued. “We feel like maybe she’ll say this, but it is truly just a collaboration the entire way.”

Speaking about what makes the ‘Euphoria set different from others, Sweeney said, “There’s a lot of reasons that it’s special. I mean, we’re doing and playing characters that have meant so much to people, and it’s the longest production that I’ve ever been on, because each season takes eight to 10 months to film.”

So I’m getting to be with this group of people for a longer amount of time than I’m used to, and actually build relationships and have almost a family in a way,” she added. “Like Maude and I are best friends. She feels like my actual sister, and I’m so thankful to be able to have something like that in this industry.”
