Every girl in the universe owns Hello Kitty merch either in the form of a blanket or a simple toy and if you don’t own one, you didn’t have a childhood. We all loved the white little kitty with a red bow. But what if we say she wasn’t a cat all this time?
We all referred to her as a cat but she is a little girl like all of us with parents and a twin sister. The following news is revealed after so many years and people are in shock.

Fans Can’t Accept The Big Reveal
This is not the first time when a claim is made around Hello Kitty by the makers. The character made headlines for the same statement in 2014 during the 40th anniversary.
Previously, Christine R. Yano who wrote, Pink Globalization: Hello Kitty’s Trek Across The Pacific’, was corrected by Sanrino for the difference between a cat and a girl during a Hello Kitty exhibit at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
He said, “She’s a cartoon character. “She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She’s never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it’s called Charmmy Kitty.”
After the following news fans also shared their disbelief on social media. Here are some Tweets from them:

Many fans were also surprised to hear about the residence of Hello Kitty. Her first appearance was made on a Japanese coin purse in 1974 and she is British living in London.
Yano added to the Los Angeles Times, “Hello Kitty emerged in the 1970s when the Japanese and Japanese women were in Britain. “They loved the idea of Britain. It represented the quintessential idealized childhood, almost like a white picket fence. So, the biography was created exactly for the tastes of that time.”
Even after all this, Hello Kitty is still loved by people around the globe and is a special part of our childhood.
