Emily Carey Talks About Her Final Appearance On ‘House Of The Dragon’
Carey has received appreciation for her performance as the young Alicent Hightower in ‘House of the Dragon.’ She is soon going to be replaced by Olivia Cooke.
In a recent interview with Variety, the 19-year-old actress talked about her appearance in the fifth episode. (Spoilers!) She spoke about the scene where Alicent attends Rhaenyra and Laenor Velaryon’s wedding feast.
“I remember going back to our script supervisor and being like, ‘OK, so which are my bits? Because surely that’s not all me? Especially that last bit, that’s not me. That’s, like, a woman. That’s not me,” she said.
She talked about the pressure she felt. “Oh god, I have to do my big walk down here. I’m so gonna trip in front of everyone.”
“This is kind of the last big hurrah that I have in this in this show. The pressure that I felt within me, I channeled into Alicent.”

Carey Was Nervous To Perform Sex Scenes In The Show
Just like ‘Game of Thrones‘, its prequel show is filled with intimate scenes between several characters. This includes scenes between Alicent and King Viserys Targaryen.
The actress was nervous shooting those scenes. She said, “Anything that felt intimate was considered an intimacy scene, which I thought was great.”
“But, it scared me, because at that point I still hadn’t met Paddy, I didn’t know how much of a joy he was and how easy he was going to make [the scene], and all I saw was, you know, a 47-year-old man and me, I was a bit concerned,” the actress said.
The show had an intimate coordinator on the sets to direct such scenes. They made sure that Carey was not made to feel shunned or awkward while shooting these scenes.
