Johnny Depp won the defamation case last month against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. The victory is largely attributed to his strong legal team including his lawyer Camille Vasquez who spearheaded a lot of cross-questioning.

The two now share a special bond and are seen meeting often. Camille recently introduced the actor to her British boyfriend Edward Owen in a backstage area at his concert in Prague.

Since the end of the defamation trial which concluded in June this year, Johnny Depp has kept himself busy with work. ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor has been doing a Europe tour with guitarist Jeff Beck. The musical duo has been performing songs from their latest album 18.

Depp recently met his lawyer Camille Vasquez, who successfully led the defamation case for him. She met the 59-year-old actor in a backstage area at his concert in Prague. According to a report by Radar Online, Camille introduced Depp to her British boyfriend Edward Owen as they shared a light-hearted moment.

Both Camille and Depp have carved a friendship since the trial started. Camille was named partner at her law firm Brown Rudnick after the trial concluded. The case originated from a 2018 op-ed Amber Heard wrote about being a survivor of domestic abuse.

At the end of the six-week-long trial, Depp was given $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages by the jury. Heard was awarded $2 million in damages to her countersuit.

Recently, Heard’s legal team filed a motion about a juror serving improperly in the defamation trial. Her lawyers claim that a 52-year-old juror had compromised the verdict. The man showed up for jury duty instead of the 77-year-old man who was summoned.

Judge Penney S. Azcarate has refuted Heard’s request for a mistrial, saying, “The summons issued to Juror Fifteen listed his legal name and address and no birth date was noted. The court has pulled Juror Fifteen’s Jury Questionnaire.”

Further, the judge added, “Juror Fifteen completed the Jury Questionnaire as himself filling in his proper birth date. The information presented on the Jury Questionnaire matches the information Juror Fifteen provided to the Court.”

The judge also said the 52-year-old being on the jury didn’t prejudice Heard as “the juror was vetted, sat for the entire jury, deliberated, and reached a verdict.”
