What Kept Taylor Swift Up All Night While Writing For Her New Album?
On Spotify, Taylor has kicked off a new video series where she’s sharing five things that kept her up at night and helped inspire the ‘Midnights‘ album. The first thing? “Self-loathing,” she said. Earlier this month on Instagram she talked about the ‘Anti-Hero’ track: “Anti-Hero is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” she said. “I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before.”
On October 17, the singer shared the second thing that kept her up at night: “fantasizing about revenge.” For those who are massive fans of the album ‘Reputation’, this might be a bonus treat. She said, “We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back,” she wrote at the time. “We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t — right this minute — about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.”
