After a delay in the much-anticipated release of the new season of ‘The Crown‘ due to the death of Queen Elizabeth, the show is finally back. Netflix is all set to release season 5 of this chart-topper series. The new season is set to be released on November 9 after a wait of almost two years.
The season will probably have 10 episodes like the previous ones. Ever since the release date was announced, fans have been flipping out to know what happens next in the storyline. ‘The Crown’: Plot And Cast
The cast will get a shift for this season to depict the change in timeline. Imelda Staunton will play Queen Elizabeth who was portrayed by Olivia Colman in the last season. As for Prince Philip, Jonathan will be playing the Duke of Edinburgh. Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana while Dominic West will portray Prince Charles. Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret. Princess Anne and Camilla Parker Bowles will be played by Claudia Harrison and Olivia Williams, respectively.
As for the plot, season 5 will portray Queen Elizabeth’s years from 1990-2003. It will also have Princess Diana versus Royal Family showdown with the iconic scene of Diana’s revenge dress. As clear from the trailer, the season will indeed capture the major turbulence of the royal family including the divorce of Princess Anne, and the fire incident at Windsor Castle.
