The series starts in a world of peace in Middle Earth. The series gains momentum with the reinvention of evil, following an ensemble of relatively new and old characters.
The budget for ‘The Rings Of Power‘, according to various sources, crossed $1 billion. After the behemoth success of the Rings trilogy, Amazon bought the television rights to the Lord of the Rings for $250 million in 2017. The show will be released on September 2 on the streaming giant. ‘Rings of Power‘ is allegedly now the most expensive TV show ever made.

Amazon Studios bought the television rights for the TV series ‘Rings Of Power‘. Amazon spent $450 million just on the first season alone. It smacked the glory of being the most expensive TV show ever made. Money spent on season 1 is mostly on infrastructure. No official declarations have been passed about how many seasons the series is expected to last. However, there is a general talk that the series would have five seasons.
Money spent on the infrastructure is said to be relatively used in the forthcoming seasons. Despite the update, the monstrous amount spent still shackles millions. The sheer size of the production vehemently challenges the HBO adaptation of ‘Game of Thrones‘ in order to set a new standard for fantasy adaptations.

As a common man, although the investment into this TV series is staggering, for a trillionaire like Jeff Bezos, the investment might not be as wild as it seems. Bezos is known for his obsession with Tolkien’s works. It is only understandable that he thinks of this series more as a personal collection of his fantasies rather than an investment.
The directors that were picked for the series are from a wide array of successful movies and series. JA Bayona, known for directing ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ and ‘The Orphanage‘, has directed the first two episodes. Gennifer Hutchison (‘Breaking Bad‘), Jason Cahill (‘The Sopranos‘), Justin Doble (‘Stranger Things‘), Helen Shang (Hannibal), among others are also part of the writer’s room.
