This is why Warner Bros. wants to continue making more films from the works of writer J. R. R. Tolkien. Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced multiple films based on Tolkien’s work. So let’s find out the details of this upcoming slate of LOTR films.

WB Announces Several ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Films
Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord of the Rings‘ franchise is one of the most successful film series of all time. Apart from the critical and commercial success, it also won 17 Academy Awards out of 30 nominations.
According to a Variety report, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced on Thursday that the studio will make multiple films based on the works of J. R. R. Tolkien.
Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, the newly appointed executives in the studio, will be foreseen these projects. Jackson and his partners have said that the studio people “have kept us in the loop every step of the way.”

Jackson Might Be Involved In The Project
Jackson and his collaborators Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens have said, “We look forward to speaking with them further to hear their vision for the franchise moving forward.”
Last year, after Amazon bought MGM, they came up with LOTR’s prequel series titled ‘The Rings of Power.’ Made on a whopping budget of more than $450 million, the series met with mixed to positive responses.
No director is currently attached to the project and not a lot of detail is known right now. But it would be interesting to see how things pan out, knowing the mixed response to Jackson’s later middle-earth trilogy ‘The Hobbits.’
