On Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast High Low with EmRata, Thorne talked about one of her experiences. “I had a director give me feedback once and I was 10,” she said.

She continued, “The casting director calls my agent and the agent calls my mom, and they’re like, ‘So she’s not moving forward because the director felt like she was flirting with him and it made him really uncomfortable.’”

Ratajkowski responded, “Also, him feeling that it was a real issue.” Thorne said that she would go say hello, do her scene and walk out.

She said that someone got a photo of her on the beach. She added, “it was all over the media, it was literally viral in that time. It was, ‘How dare this little girl do this? This is so disgusting.’”
