The writers of the best of the best shows are going on another strike after 15 years. The Writers Guild of America revealed on May 1, 2023, that more than 10,000 members would discontinue working from the next day.
The announcement comes after a contract could not be finalized between the guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The strike happened back in 2007 and 2008, and Hollywood lost more than $2 billion at the time. So, this is going to have a bad impact on the most popular TV shows. Shows That Would Be Affected By Writers Guild Of America Strike
1. Late Night Shows Will Be Badly Affected
There have been several late-night shows like ‘The Late Show’, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, ‘The Tonight Show‘, ‘The Daily Show‘ and others will be going for a break. Repeat telecasts will be broadcast instead of new episodes. The live production of two shows that include ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ and ‘This Week Tonight’ will also be put on hold.
2. Abbott Elementary
A third season for ‘Abbott Elementary’ was confirmed in January 2023 and the writers were supposed to get to work on May 2, 2023. According to writer Brittani Nicols, if the strike fronted by the Writers Guild of America continues for a long time, the new season might not premiere on the planned date.

3. Cobra Kai
‘Cobra Kai’ is currently one of the best shows on Netflix and all five seasons have received positive reviews until now. A sixth season was confirmed at the beginning of 2023 but following the strike, John Hurwitz posted a tweet, saying that they will be back on track once things are sorted out.
4. Yellowjackets
The latest season of ‘Yellowjackets’ was released on March 26, 2023. But the show was renewed for a third season in December last year. While the writing process has been going on for the third season, it has been put on hold after the strike.
