In ‘My Hero Academia’, numerous hypotheses that paired Endeavor and Dabi as father and son quickly gained popularity. After all, it’s interesting, to say the least when a prominent villain is the father of the current top hero.
These beliefs, which were first based on a superficial comparison of their strengths and other manga hints, have all but become fact. Social media sites were inundated with comments affirming or disputing Dabi’s status as a Todoroki, but everything came to an end with the publication of chapter 290. It turns out that Dabi is fixated on Endeavor for a reason.

Who Is Dabi? Is He Endeavor Son?
The main antagonist of the anime series ‘My Hero Academia‘ is Toya Todoroki, known by the name Dabi. He was a member of the Vanguard Action Squad before joining the League of Villains, but the group has since disbanded. Later, he joined the PLF and was made one of its nine lieutenants.
What many Dabi fans have believed since the beginning was ultimately confirmed in chapter #290 of the series. Dabi disclosed his real name, Toya Todoroki, in front of both Enji and Shoto (Endeavor’s younger son). While some readers anticipated this, neither of the heroes was prepared for his true identity. Because of the unintentional route his father unknowingly sent him on, he confessed to a startlingly high number of cold-blooded killings. Given the detrimental influence, Endeavor had on Shoto, it becomes sense that he would have a similar impact on the son he abandoned.
The goal of Endeavor’s life was to surpass All Might and take the top spot among heroes. In order to produce the most potent progeny possible, he married Rei, a lady with an ice quirk, because he was so fixated on this objective. Toya Todoroki, who possesses a fire quirk stronger than his father’s Hell Flame, was born to Endeavor and Rei. As a result, Enji set Toya up for success and began training him at an early age when he was eager to learn. Dabi would burn himself every time he used his Quirk due to his natural susceptibility to cold rather than fire. Due to this, Endeavor declared him a failure and turned his attention to raising another youngster who might be exceptionally talented.
How Did He Get His Scars?
Even after Endeavor left, Dabi was determined to realize his dream. Toya began training independently despite his family’s repeated objections and wound himself covered in burns. Endeavor, on the other hand, paid him no more attention as a result of this—quite the reverse.
Dabi had a growth surge and his flames turned from red to blue during one of his sessions at Sekoto Peak. Nevertheless, Endeavor punished Rei for allowing Toya to set himself ablaze in revenge. Toya awaited Endeavor’s arrival at Sekoto Peak in the future, but he never did.
Toya finally lost control of his flames due to the agony and emotional trauma, which caused a sizable wildfire. Similar to how Dabi, who was burned by flames that reached 3,500 degrees Fahrenheit, acquired his scars. Because of how violent the incident was, Dabi was thought to be dead. Toya eventually managed to survive despite having severe burns. He changed his name to Dabi and dyed his hair black as a result of his painful experiences. Dabi’s primary objective as a villain now is to ruin Endeavor’s heroic career and see the hero society disintegrate.
