Zachary Levi played the titular superhero in ‘Shazam‘ and its recently released sequel, ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’. The latter has met with mixed reviews and has underperformed at the box office.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, members of Dwayne Johnson starrer ‘Black Adam’s Justice Society of America were set to appear in ‘Shazam 2.’ However, director David F. Sandberg said the scene “fell apart three days before we were going to roll cameras.

A report stated that Johnson blocked the appearance of those characters as well as Levi’s cameo in ‘Black Adam‘. Levi took to his Instagram story to share the report and wrote: “The truth shall set you free.”

After the poor box-office performance of the film, director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter to talk about his feelings about the superhero genre and his future projects.

On Rotten Tomatoes I just got my lowest critic score and my highest audience score on the same film I wasn’t expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it’s a good film,” he tweeted.

Sandberg then said that he plans to go back to his favorite genre, which is horror. “After six years of ‘Shazam’ I’m definitely done with superheroes for now,” Sandberg wrote.
