The Marvel Cinematic Universe is entering a new era, and it’s nothing short of colossal. At this year’s CinemaCon, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared a lot of exciting news with fresh updates on the highly anticipated ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
From a plot that reads like a fan’s ultimate dream to a cast list bursting with MCU heavyweights, the next Avengers installment is shaping up to be the studio’s most ambitious project yet.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ May Include The Fantastic Four, The Wakandans, Thunderbolts, And The X-Men

Filming for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is officially set to begin in a matter of days. Additionally, according to Feige, the roster of heroes and villains is still not complete. “We’re not done,” he teased, implying more high-profile casting announcements are on the way. That’s no small feat considering the already stacked cast previously released.
This list includes Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), and even the return of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the original X-Men lineup, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto. Robert Downey Jr. Is also returning to the franchise as Dr. Doom.
The central conflict of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will unite and possibly divide some of the biggest teams in the MCU. Feige confirmed that the story revolves around the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and the original X-Men coming together to face Doom. However, he remained intentionally vague about whether the teams would eventually clash before joining forces.
Despite Being In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast, ‘Thunderbolts*’ Stars Haven’t Seen The Script

Despite the fanfare at CinemaCon, several noteworthy names were conspicuously absent from the announced cast. Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), and Charlie Cox (Daredevil) were all missing from the five-hour reveal event. Though sources suggest that final contracts are still being negotiated. This leaves fans clinging to hope.

Feige’s message wasn’t the only highlight from the event. Thunderbolts stars Florence Pugh and David Harbour also joined the event. When asked about working with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, both actors hilariously admitted they hadn’t read the script yet.
“I actually have no clue because I haven’t read a script,” Pugh laughed. Harbour chimed in with a grin, “Oh, you haven’t read one? Oh my God, it’s so good. I’m in the same boat. I haven’t read a script.” Even directors Joe And Anthony Russo have spoken about how things function around the set.
“We’re pretty good about shutting that down,” Joe said about set leaks, while Anthony added, “We’ve picked our locations with that in mind.” The Russo Brothers, who previously helmed ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’, are determined to raise the bar even higher with Doomsday. “Absolutely, we want to beat those younger versions of ourselves,” Joe admitted.
“We have to. Because we have to outdo those movies in a way, or at least take you on an equally engaging journey.” Anthony echoed the sentiment. “These movies are an incredible opportunity for us, and for audiences,” he stated. With all this, it’s clear that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is more than just the next team-up movie.
