For years, Marvel fans have seen Tony Stark‘s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ as the emotional end of his story. But what if the MCU found the perfect way to bring his body back without bringing Tony back?

One wild guess is that Doctor Doom could become Iron Man’s ultimate dark reflection and use his corpse to become the next great threat in the Marvel universe. The MCU has already set up some pretty interesting groundwork with regard to identity, reincarnation, and consciousness, so it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

‘Doomsday’, there have been rumors that the two projects might have more of a connection than revealed. The series will follow the story of White Vision, a character who looks like the original Vision but struggles with questions of identity, memory, and what makes someone the same person.

In ‘Agatha All Along’, Billy Maximoff’s consciousness finds a new home in William Kaplan’s body, demonstrating that the MCU can separate a person’s identity from their original physical form. That doesn’t necessarily mean Doom could do something like that, but it sets a precedent for supernatural transfers of consciousness.

The idea of Doom surviving the destruction of his own universe during an incursion, and finding Tony Stark’s body after ‘Endgame’, is pretty cool. Rather than simply copying Iron Man’s appearance, Doom could potentially exploit his physical form to gain access to Stark’s technological legacy.

What the really scary thing is is what Doom can do with Tony’s knowledge. If he somehow managed to get his hands on Stark’s memories and engineering skills, he could meld Iron Man’s technological genius with his own mastery of magic and scientific innovation.

That mix might generate something more lethal than an ordinary army of armored soldiers: DOOMBOTS created with Stark-inspired technology, capable of confusing even the Avengers. There’s also an emotional dimension to this theory, with Tony being a beloved Avenger.

However, the biggest problem is that Doom is introduced in a different universe in ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ and there is no indication that he needs Tony’s body. But if Marvel wants to make ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ genuinely devastating, turning Iron Man’s legacy into Doom’s greatest weapon would be one way to do it.
