Tony Stark is one of the greatest heroes in the MCU, but his legacy isn’t as simple as saving the world. Before he sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos, Tony was an arrogant weapons manufacturer whose inventions and decisions had repercussions he never could have predicted.
There Were A Lot Of Consequences Of Stark’s Ambition

Interestingly, several MCU villains either emerged because of Stark Industries or were shaped by Tony’s actions. Tony’s story demonstrates that even the most brilliant minds can cause issues that they are unable to resolve. Perhaps the best example of his mistakes is Ultron.

The AI was supposed to defend Earth. Instead, Ultron determined that mankind was the greatest threat to peace and tried to end it. The repercussions of the Battle of Sokovia were even more dire. Wanda and Pietro Maximoff lost their parents when a Stark Industries missile hit their home, and they hate Tony and Stark Industries even more.
Wanda later became an Avenger, but her actions revealed how grief and trauma can turn even a sympathetic character evil. The destruction of Sokovia is also a key factor in Baron Zemo’s transformation. His family perished in the Avengers’ fight against Ultron.
The loss of his family members eventually led him to stage a coup against the Avengers in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Tony’s inventions also made villains. Obadiah Stane used Stark technology to create the Iron Monger armor, and Ivan Vanko was motivated by his family’s history with Stark to seek revenge.
Tony’s Legacy Is Complicated

After the Battle of New York, the Department of Damage Control assumed responsibility for cleanup, leaving Adrian Toomes to work in illegal salvage after that. He became the Vulture after getting frustrated with the power of big corporations.

In Quentin Beck’s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, it was the same story. Tony had dismissed Beck’s holographic BARF technology and renamed it Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing. Beck felt that he was being overlooked and took his knowledge and skills and turned them into Mysterio.
Tony’s influence also extended to the Department of Damage Control, which became increasingly powerful later on and became a threat to superpowered people. In the meantime, the Jocasta plot also raises the possibility of technology and business decisions having unforeseen consequences.
Tony’s greatest achievement wasn’t creating powerful technology. It was recognizing his mistakes and choosing to take responsibility. In ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ he saved half the universe, proving that a complicated legacy doesn’t prevent someone from becoming a true hero.
