The key to ‘VisionQuest’ may lie in the enigmatic antagonist, who might not be Jim Hammond. The original Human Torch could pose a threat to White Vision, but if the original Vision returns, the whole story could change.
‘VisionQuest’s Real Villain Could Be Paul Bettany’s Original Vision

Paul Bettany’s android was one of the MCU’s most tragic characters. The Mind Stone and other technology components combined with Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. created a personality that made Vision far more than a machine. His relationship with Wanda Maximoff brought him a feeling of humanity, which made his end at the hands of Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ even more devastating.

But what if his story didn’t actually end in Wakanda, though? Jim Hammond is an intriguing candidate for the mysterious antagonist. In Marvel Comics, he is the original Human Torch, an artificial human whose history is tied to the origins of the Vision mythos.
His connection to the show’s technological mysteries makes him a logical suspect, especially if his original programming survived. It may be that Hammond is hoping to live in White Vision’s body, to have a second life. Another theory is that he might be able to help White Vision regain the emotions and memories that were lost.
However, the mysterious client’s voice could offer a more interesting clue. If it’s a deliberate nod to Bettany, then Marvel may be pointing towards something much grander than a Human Torch takeover. The similarity of voice doesn’t prove anything. But it does raise an interesting question as to who’s really behind the scenes.
Could The Original Vision Have Created A Backup?

White Vision was rebuilt by SWORD using the remains of Vision’s body, but Wanda’s reconstructed Vision and the original android were not the same. In the ‘WandaVision’ finale, White Vision recovered his memory after a philosophical debate, and then flew away. His fate was left hanging.

That unresolved ending gives ‘VisionQuest’ an opportunity to explore what it means to be Vision when memories, emotions, and identity can exist independently of a physical body. What if the original Vision had hidden a copy of his consciousness before Thanos destroyed him?
Such a revelation could allow the original and White Vision to reunite, combining restored memories with a body that no longer lacks its original humanity. It may also be a reason for the rumored revival of Vision’s iconic comic book suit.
A fully restored Vision emerging from the union of both versions would be a fitting visual payoff. Instead of another antagonist, ‘VisionQuest’ might actually be a story about Vision facing himself. And if that client is the same as the original Vision, Marvel could be preparing for its most personal twist yet.
