Marvel’s ‘VisionQuest’ continues to weave together the MCU’s past and present, with new episodes delivering several intriguing Easter eggs, comic book references, and connections to familiar characters.

From Ultron’s disturbing plans to Tommy’s emotional connection to his family, these episodes offer plenty for longtime Marvel fans to unpack.

One of the biggest developments involves Ultron and Paladin, who were secretly communicating with each other. Ultron wanted to help Paladin capture Vision, raising questions about how far his plans extend and whether Vision is walking straight into another trap.

Meanwhile, Jocasta’s mysterious work on a supposed “cure for humanity” suggests that her ambitions might go far beyond simply helping Vision. Her presence is particularly interesting because of her comic book origins. In Marvel Comics, Ultron created Jocasta as a robotic companion, making their relationship far more complicated than a typical conflict between artificial intelligences.

The series also revisits ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, which referenced Jocasta among the artificial intelligence options Tony Stark considered for his Iron Man technology. This small connection gives her MCU appearance additional significance.

Another unsettling detail involves Ultron scanning Katerina’s face before vaporizing her, hinting that he could be collecting information for a larger plan. Vision eventually disables the firewalls to escape, but doing so also frees Ultron and allows FRIDAY to escape. The consequences could prove disastrous.

‘VisionQuest’ Features ‘WandaVision’ And Other MCU Callbacks

The episodes also bring back memories of ‘WandaVision’ through Tommy, who hears the series’ iconic theme. It’s an emotional callback that reminds viewers of the family at the heart of Vision’s story. Tommy’s connection to his comic book identity, Speed, adds another layer for fans familiar with the Young Avengers.

The return of Faran Tahir as Raza, the Ten Rings commander from ‘Iron Man’, provides another link to the MCU’s earliest days. Meanwhile, Madripoor returns as a significant location after its previous appearance in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’.

Tony Stark’s EDITH system also receives attention, connecting ‘VisionQuest’ to ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’. With Vision waking up aboard a transport headed to Madripoor alongside Lisa to rescue Tommy, the story is ready to escalate. These hints suggest that Marvel is building toward a dangerous confrontation involving Vision, Ultron, Jocasta, and Paladin.
