Marvel Studios has already warned fans that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ could leave audiences desperately waiting for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Kevin Feige has left enough of a cliffhanger for the wait to be painful, but what if the film doesn’t have just one big cliffhanger? What if it leaves fans with four?
The Multiverse Could Be Falling Apart
The biggest cliffhanger could be the Incursion. With different realities colliding, the Avengers could be in trouble they can’t solve with a punch in the face. A ‘Doomsday’ ending would be to have the multiverse start to fall apart rather than the heroes being victorious over Doctor Doom.

Imagine the final shot cutting away as entire realities disappear or begin crashing into one another, leaving the Avengers powerless to stop what’s coming. It would be a hard place to end the story. Then there’s Doctor Doom himself.
Victor von Doom could have spent a lot of the film behind his iconic mask, and Marvel can save the character’s full face reveal for the end of the film. But if Doom actually does take off his mask at the end, it wouldn’t just be Downey’s return to the MCU. It would be the moment Marvel officially establishes this new version of one of its greatest villains.
The Final Reveals Are The Game-Changers
The other two cliffhangers may be characters whose identity is still unknown. It is alleged that the Latverian Witches have been shrouded in secrecy, and their eventual exposure may have a significant impact on Doom’s wider agenda. If Marvel were to keep their identities a secret until the end, fans could walk out of the theater immediately questioning everything they thought they understood about the villains.

And then there’s Boris. The enigmatic right-hand man of Doom may have a much greater agenda than just serving his master. If he is revealed as his true identity in the final moments, it may be another major storyline that will be taken directly over to ‘Secret Wars’.
This is what makes this theory so exciting. Instead of providing fans with one big question to answer, Marvel could leave four new mysteries for fans to ponder over with the end of ‘Doomsday’.
The multiverse is falling apart. Doom’s face is finally revealed. The witches’ identities are revealed. Boris’ secret comes to light. After that, the screen turns black. And suddenly, waiting for ‘Secret Wars’ becomes almost unbearable.
