Is Shuri The Next Black Panther?
Shuri is the Princess of Wakanda. She is the youngest child of T’Chaka and Ramonda, sister of T’Challa, and the leader of the Wakanda Design Group. What Do The Comics Reveal?
Shuri was first introduced in 2005’s Black Panther Volume. In Marvel comics, Shuri is a strong and intelligent character despite her not having any superhuman abilities. According to the comics, Shuri should take up the mantle of Black Panther. This was suggested after T’Challa was nearly killed by Doctor Doom in a fight.
Remember when Killmonger burns the heart-shaped herb that gives Wakandans the power of Black Panther? Yeah well, Shuri creates her own herb and consumes it to become the Black Panther. After consuming the herb, Shuri’s strength, senses, and abilities are amplified. After she is resurrected from her fight with Proxima Midnight, she also gains the ability to turn her skin rigid and statue-like and she can also control crows.
