2024’s most awaited and anticipated project finally dropped its trailer at the Super Bowl. The trailer opened with Wade Wilson getting recruited by TVA to mend the distorted timelines, finding himself dealing with variants from across the multiverse. He is most likely to find himself facing a variant of Wolverine as well.
Other than the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, fans will finally witness Wolverine in his classic yellow suit and mask. After 11 years, Wolverine’s iconic suit will make it to the big screen. Anything close to the iconic costume was seen in the post-credit scene of The Wolverine, where Logan received a glove and mask as a gift from Yukio.

āDeadpool 3ā Trailer Reveals Wolverine’s Patch Costume
Halfway through the trailer, Hugh Jackman’s character can be identified in what seems to be a casino, in a white suit. Although the shot is back from back, hiding his face, it is easily recognizable as Wolverine because of his iconic haircut. The comics readers might have easily spotted the connection, as in Marvel Comics, Wolverine wears a white tuxedo and an eyepatch under his alter-ego Patch, which he adopted during his 1988 stint as a low-profile Madripoor criminal.
Wolverine’s Patch outfit in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ trailer may hint at Wolverine’s alternate-universe backstory. However, there is speculation that Hugh Jackmanās new variant might be keeping a low profile, and similarly to the comic counterpart, he might be planning to infiltrate the local crime world. Maybe he has discovered that TVA is hunting down rogue variants and wants to escape from them. And what other way to blend among the criminals than becoming a criminal to escape from TVA?

Wolverine’s Patch Costume In Marvel Comics Explained
After the Fall of Mutants storyline, Wolverine decides to hide his real identity and settles in the nation of Madripoor only to delve deeper into the criminal underworld. Wolverineās disguise costume involved an eyepatch and a white tuxedo, often visiting bars and casinos. Wolverine’s undercover identity also allows him to distance himself away from his condemnation.
Written by Larry Hama, Wolverine developed an alter-ego in the 2022 comic book series- Wolverine: Patch. The story is set before the 90s runway of Wolverine, which also saw the mutants taking residence in Madripoor. The comics revealed that the Prince of Madripoor recruited Patch to investigate something in the Madripoor jungle. However, it is still unknown to what level, will ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ take the Patch storyline and how is it related to Wolverine’s blue and yellow costume.
