James Gunn and Peter Safran are in command of DCU now. Fans are eager to know what this dynamic duo brings to the table next as they are changing the whole course of the DC universe. Recently, James Gunn talked about the new DCU focusing on both animated and live-action projects.
While keeping that in mind, Gunn announced that Frank Grillo would be playing Rick Flag, Sr. in both the animated ‘Creature Commandos‘ and the live-action ‘Peacemaker‘ season 2.

James Gunn Announces Animated And Live Action Series Projects In DCU
James Gunn on his social media account announced that Frank Grillo is going to reprise the role of Rick Flag, Sr. He wrote, “Pleased to announce the great Frank Grillo will be reprising the role of Rick Flag, Sr — the role he’ll first play in animated form in Creature Commandos — throughout season 2 of Peacemaker.”
Gunn hinted at the roles by writing “Christopher Smith and Rick Sr have a little unfinished business to take care of…”

The story revolves around a team of misfits working on secret missions for the US government. Instead of villains, the movie features monsters.
The cast of the animated movie also includes, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Indira Varma playing the Bride of Frankenstein, Maria Bakalova as Ilana Rostovic, Alan Tudyk as the radioactive Doctor Phosphorous, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, and Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn playing both G.I. Robot and Weasel.

Grillo And His Works In Hollywood
Frank Grillo is a well-known name in Hollywood. He has played roles in movies like ‘Warrior‘ and ‘The Grey‘, as well as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His other works include ‘Kingdom’, ‘Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ and ‘Lamborghini’.
‘Peacemaker’ is directed by James Gunn himself with John Cena as Christopher Smith, aka The Peacemaker. During the first season of the series, Cena played the role of a man who could go to any extent to maintain peace, no matter how many people get killed.
The second season shall include eight episodes in total and is also moving forward with the third season. John Cena is also the co-executive producer of the series.
