After ‘Loki’, Marvel has not had a stroke of great luck with its superhero series. ‘She-Hulk’, ‘Hawkeye’, and ‘The Inhumans’ did not exactly serve their purpose in pleasing Marvel fans. But the announcement of ‘Loki‘ season two and ‘Echo‘ has again sprung excitement amongst Marvel Fans.
But for the first time, an MCU series will be will getting a binge release. Kevin Feige, the president of the Marvel Universe announced this strategy hoping it can drive substantial engagement, especially for newer titles, the same strategy was followed by Netflix. This move is also because the studio wants to be more calculated about its upcoming projects.

What will Marvel’s new TV show Echo be about ?
‘Echo’ will serve as the fourth female-led series by Marvel after ‘Wanda Vision’, ‘She-Hulk’, and ‘Ms. Marvel’. The Hawkeye spin-off will star Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez who is a deaf Native American character who has photographic reflexes. Maya Lopez is the adoptive daughter of supervillain Kingpin. She is known to fight alongside Daredevil, who desires to destroy the criminal underworld. Also, Charlie Cox will be returning to his Daredevil role in Echo.
Echo will basically narrate the origin story of Maya Lopez. She was first introduced in Hawkeye, fighting alongside Clint Barton and now Maya Lopez will return for revenge in Marvel’s upcoming series Echo. It will also star Cody Lightning, Zahn McClarnon, Graham Greene, and Devery Jacobs. ‘Echo’ is all set to be released on November 29 on Disney+.

Why did Disney+ change its strategy?
Disney’s new binge strategy is a surprising move for the company as it follows the footsteps of its competitor network, Netflix. The pressure to change its strategy was because Dinsey+ lost over four million subscribers bringing them down to a total of 157.8 subscribers. Also, Kevin Feige wants to keep all the Marvel projects calculative as many fans are overwhelmed by the continuous release of the superhero series.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly Kevin Feige said, “It is harder to hit the zeitgeist when there’s so much product out there — and so much ‘content,’ as they say, which is a word that I hate”. He further added, “But we want Marvel Studios and the MCU projects to really stand out and stand above. So, people will see that as we get further into Phases 5 and 6. The pace at which we’re putting out the Disney+ shows will change so they can each get a chance to shine”.
