‘Hawkeye’ Season 2 Might Be On The Cards As Disney Changes Its Award Season Campaign

Since its foray into the digital space with Disney+, Marvel Cinematic Universe has been soaring high. The shows like WandaVision, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Loki, and What….If pioneered the collaboration between Marvel and Disney+. Most recently, Moon Knight created a lot of buzz due to its mythological and superhero story amalgamation and terrific acting by Oscar Isaac. Amongst this catalog, Hawkeye shone brighter, and Hailee Steinfield and Jeremy Renner’s pairing was just perfect. However, Disney’s campaigning for the show for the limited series category has created uncertainty. But, there may be a silver lining for the fate of the series.

Marvel Universe is thriving in the OTT space, but fan favorites are still awaiting a second season. Some series like ‘WandaVision’ received their conclusion in the recent multiverse fate with ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’. Sam Wilson will don the suit with ‘Captain America 4′. Other shows like Loki and the animated series ‘What If…?’ are greenlit for another season.

As for ‘Hawkeye’, in April, the series was nominated to campaign for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. But now, as per the Disney Studio Awards page, the archery superhero series is in consideration for the Outstanding Comedy Series at Emmy Awards 2022. This transition has given a ray of hope to the fans for another season. Other shows like Moon Knight will compete in the Limited Series category and Loki will be campaigned for Outstanding Drama Series.

This whole campaign setup looks like Disney wants to give each series its award category to fight for. Moon Knight could have had a great potential to sweep the Emmys for the Comedy Series category, but the parent platform and company want each to win an accolade at the major television awards.

‘Hawkeye’ is now available for streaming on Disney+.
