How ‘VisionQuest’ Could Be The Key To Bringing Wanda Back Before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Marvel might have discovered a very natural solution to re-introduce Wanda Maximoff into the MCU, and it may start with two brothers trying to find their mother. In ‘Agatha All Along‘, Billy goes in search of his reincarnated twin brother Tommy.

Now ‘VisionQuest‘ seems to complicate that story, because it turns out that Vision has already found Tommy. That changes everything.

As Billy and Tommy are reunited, it would make sense if they were to find Wanda next. The two brothers looking for their mother is a less forced MCU setup, and more of a natural extension of their story after everything they’ve been through. It may also be quite relevant to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

We know that the MCU has already shown us that Billy has a memory of his past, and there’s not much that we know about Tommy’s journey. With the brothers reunited in ‘VisionQuest’, Marvel has a chance to delve into their relationship before sending them on another massive Avengers adventure.

It is an interesting blueprint that the comics offer. In one plot line, Billy and Tommy meet again, and eventually start looking for Wanda. Their journey brings them to learn about their mother in the orbit of Doctor Doom, who has his own reasons for being interested in her extraordinary powers.

Marvel doesn’t need to retell that story. In fact, it probably shouldn’t. However, the concept could have a surprisingly significant link to the bigger Multiverse Story. What if the series ended with Billy and Tommy finding out that Wanda is alive somewhere?

Wanda’s Return May Lead To Doom’s Greater Endgame

The most exciting possibility is that Wanda’s return isn’t just a cameo. In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’, ‘VisionQuest’ could be used to show the importance of Wanda to Doctor Doom. Her reality-warping powers make her one of the most dangerous in the MCU. So it would be logical for Doom to be interested in her.

Billy and Tommy’s search for Wanda, however, gives her a purpose to return, which is more important. Wanda wouldn’t just show up for the sake of Marvel wanting Elizabeth Olsen back. It is her children who would make her a part of the story again.

That would make the reunion hit much harder. With ‘WandaVision’, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, and all her family’s losses, it could be one of the MCU’s most emotional moments when Billy and Tommy finally see their mother again. But what if Doctor Doom is by her side when they do? Well, that would be one heck of a way to link ‘VisionQuest’ straight to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
